Concrete walls to Wood ceilings

Momentum has slowed but progress continues.  We have been spending more time with our kids for the summer, while still trying to get the interior of the house completed.  Therefore, its taken a little longer for me to get the "after" pictures captured.

North end of the basement, this will become an extra bedroom

Facing the south end of the house, this will be sectioned into four designated areas.

Carl had two requests for the basement, while I had one.  He wanted a theater room and a hunting room for all his gear.  I am of course happy to oblige as that would mean his stuff would be contained in his room and not spilling out into the rest of the house.

This next picture is the same view as the one before, but with walls.

And of course, let's not forget to talk about the appropriate fashionable attire for the job.  When painting with a sprayer, its very difficult to wash sprayed paint from your hair.  Therefore, a full body cover (hat sold separately) is definitely the way to go.  Serious business here....hence the serious facial expression. 🤣

Carl got his hunting room.  This is a view standing from the south wall into the theater room.

Check out those hunting room approved colors, paint and flooring.

This is where if got fun.  To be honest, I was dreading more sheet rock mud and the sanding.  The tedious sanding that gets EVERYWHERE.  Naturally I had to suggest another option.  Wood ceilings were the answer for an aesthetically pleasing view, as well as for a quick and simple option.

Carl and I cut 4' x 8' sheets of finished wood into 8" strips.  Treating them with Classic Grey stain at different strengths.  Placing them in a simple pattern gave us this fantastic look.

Paint and trim going up

I think we accomplished what we were going for for this theater room.  Carl wired the surround sound and projector, with a hidden screen in the ceiling (with some help from his dad).  With some simple bed risers found HERE for each of the couches, this created our stadium seating option.  Works like a charm.

Now I get to play some more with decor....can't wait to complete a very exciting project up my sleeve and share with you all.  Stay tuned!

Of course there must be a concession stand for the theater room.  Popcorn, drinks, nuts and candy.  Still have some decor to do, but you get the idea.

My parents are getting ready to leave for a mission in Japan and have graciously donated there mini fridge and microwave to our concession stand.  The three drawer dresser was a $15 five drawer find at DI.  Cutting the top two drawers off and created a new top for an appropriate sized storage unit, more treats, movies, etc.
