The Before House

We are gonna call this house, The 70's called and they want their Lava Rock back House.  This house had some serious lava rock.  Although the previous owners kids painted the house and put in new flooring (carpet and a foam rolled faux wood), it still had its 70's charm and layout.  We have big plans for this house and we are nearly halfway there.

For now I thought it would be fun to at least introduce you to the "as is" house we bought.  It's really not bad, but definitely needed some Farmhouse Weeks' TLC.  I will be sharing before and after as the after becomes share worthy.  But in the meantime, enjoy the befores.

Here we have the Living Room with my favorite (wink wink) lava rock.  That will be one of the first things to go.  View from the Garage door.

The kitchen before.  First picture is a view from the fireplace room into the dining area and kitchen.

The space for the fridge.  Tiny!

All new appliances, so that's awesome.

Kitchen window and porch door from the dining room

Looking down the upstairs hallway you can see the two end rooms.  The door to the left is the master bedroom and the door to the right, another bedroom.

Master bedroom closet

Master bath

Bedroom 1 closet

Downstairs bathroom...kids bathroom

I had to put a hen in the picture because I captured our realtor looking in the closet under the stairs.  This is the finished part of the basement.  Long narrow room that we will create a bedroom and laundry/craft room with.  The closet you see will become the laundry cove.

As you can see this house is not a bad house and very livable.  However, in my world, there is always room to improve and opportunity for change.  The potential in this house is endless.  I can't wait to share the remodel and upgrades of the house with you.  Enjoy the ride, as we are, even with all the dust and mess.
