Life Under Construction

Lights out, basement flooding, dinner; another quick meal of cheesy tortillas....this is Life Under Construction.  As with any remodel, you will run into bumps in the road.  It only becomes tricky when you are living in the chaos.  Surely everyday is bound to face hiccups and re-doing....well, everything.  A task I signed up for and excited to see the progress everyday.  But as I was explaining the mess at my house to a friend, she described it as "life under construction".  Not only does a hefty remodel bring on dust and a construction zone, but your personal life becomes a construction zone as well as you are re-working everything.

I loved her perspective and thought that I had to own it and take on the title for this stage of life for us.  Our lives are under construction.  Bring your hard hat if you visit.  

Yesterday while changing out all the outlets and light switches, somehow one of the outlets blew a circuit and now my daughter's bedroom and my laundry room are without light.  While having an electrician friend take a look at it to see the problem, my washer drain decided to come lose while doing a batch of laundry and spray a few gallons of water all over the laundry room...yikes.  Its a little difficult shop vacc-ing up water in a dark room.  That was fun, and a lot of towels were possibly harmed in the making of this post.  

Regardless of the chaos, and mess, we are so excited to really start to see the fruits of our labor.  Demo and construction are essentially completed, we are now in the re-building and finishing stages.  Hopefully just one more week and I will be able to start sharing the decor of this home remodel.
